Don’t let the name fool you, this drink is anything but Holy.  This was a favorite around the place when we had some leftover clear liquor around after a Jungle Juice party (more about that later).

Nothing special about the ingredients.  In fact just about any old hooch will do.  The magic seems to be the tonic water and grenadine which take the overwhelming alcohol flavor out.  You might see someone knock one of these back and come running for another, but let them run again in 5 minutes and you might see them stumble!

You’ll see a few recipes that call for this to be mixed in a rocks or old fashioned glass.  That combination might be a little strong for delicate palate.  I don’t mind using a pint glass with 4 ice cubes so I can get a little more tonic in the mix.

Holy Water

Here’s my favorite recipe!

Ingredients:
4 ice cubes
2 oz vodka
1 oz triple sec
1 oz white rum
1 can of tonic water
1 dash grenedine

Instructions:
Ice in the glass, and pour over the vodka, triple sec and rum.  Then add tonic water until almost full, and toss in a dash of grenadine.  Serve while still bubbly.

Usually 2 of these is the limit for most folks.  It’s a strong drink that is a great starter for the evening if you want to get that buzz going early.

Make this a classy cocktail with some Smirnoff Vodka, Cointreau and some lovely Bacardi light rum.  The combination is wicked… I mean heavenly!
